Dummett & Co was founded in 2009 by Craig Dummett, a 20-year veteran of South Africa’s PR industry. Craig took a leap of faith when, without any startup capital and in one of the worst global financial slumps since the Great Depression of the 1930s, he established a small PR and communications agency with the aim of delivering excellent, ethical service to specific industries. Craig believed that, in spite of the adverse conditions, a small, flexible team working in an honest, hands-on way for carefully selected clients would not only deliver the goods, but make a measurable difference to those business’s bottom lines as well as the people who worked in them.
His resolve paid off, and today Craig runs a tight ship out of a Cape Town head office and a Johannesburg satellite office. The company’s reputation for cost-effectiveness, agility and ethical delivery has ensured some big-ticket contracts as well as many smaller – but every bit as important – projects.
